During the Movida Madrileña, he began tagging the city’s walls with his artistic alias: a spiral ending with an arrow and an R inside a circle. This signature has influenced thousands of urban artists. Having passed away in 1995, his impact was so profound that his name appears on a Madrid street map, in his beloved Campamento neighborhood, where a garden is christened with a must-see tribute graffiti on the shutter of a kiosk. Much effort has also been made to preserve his last signature. Located on the central Montera Street, it has undergone a successful restoration and now resides in a new home: the Municipal Printing Office. After being featured in the ‘Liberated Letters’ exhibition, it will become part of the institution’s permanent collection.

In addition, a new signature by the artist has appeared on Cava Alta street, a piece of urban art that will be restored and protected.

12.
